Sandra Willard was born in 1970 in Ontario, Canada. She immigrated to the United States from Canada in 2004 to marry her husband, Thomas.

A self-taught artist, Sandra often draws inspiration from the dutch masters of still life such as Jan Davidsz de Heem and Willem Kalf. Her favorite subjects include antiques, lace and flowers.

One of the mediums that she chooses to work most often in is scratchboard for its sensitivity to touch and its archival qualities. She can achieve painterly effects through traditional drawing techniques using a medical scalpel.

In the time she has been a full-time artist she has had two solo exhibitions and several group exhibitions in galleries throughout Illinois. Sandra's artwork has been published in the 4th edition of Strokes of Genius by North Light Books. She has won numerous awards at many juried exhibitions and art fairs.

Sandra is a juried member of the International Guild of Realism. She is also a founding member of the International Society of Scratchboard Artists.

Her work can be found in private collections throughout the world. She currently resides in Rathdrum, Idaho with her husband and dog.
